Tibetan Buddhist religious paintings — thankas — have served to inspire practitioners through the centuries.
For the first time in the history of the Barway Dorje lineage a set of eighteen thankas, which depict the reincarnations of Barway Dorje, has been commissioned. Two of Tibet’s finest thanka painters have agreed to work on all eighteen thankas until completion. Each thanka takes more than two months to create and costs $3,000. Supporting the creation of the eighteen Barway Dorje lineage thankas is an amazing opportunity to help the buddhadharma flourish. Any donation toward either a full thanka or partial donation of any amount is greatly meritorious.
“Some lineages have become only a name while others are left with pieces of history and a few lineage holders. Seeing that this is a real danger, I want to do everything I can to avoid this happening to Barway Dorje’s lineage and reincarnation history. Therefore, I am asking everybody to help me in accomplishing this meaningful project.”
